Technology Unlocking the UK's Circular Minerals Future
DEScycle is pleased to announce its inclusion in the UK Critical Minerals Investment Prospectus, published to support the government's Critical Minerals Strategy and Vision 2035. This recognition demonstrates DEScycle's role as a leading technology provider capable of enabling a secure, circular and sustainable supply of critical minerals for the United Kingdom.
Enabling the UK's 20 Percent Circularity Target
The updated UK Critical Minerals Strategy sets a national objective for 20 percent of critical mineral demand to be met through domestic recycling and circular supply by 2035. Achieving this target will require large scale deployment of advanced recycling technologies that can recover metals without the carbon intensity, waste and environmental impacts associated with traditional smelting and hydrometallurgical routes.
DEScycle's proprietary Deep Eutectic Solvent technology is uniquely aligned to this requirement. The DES process recovers metals from e waste and other secondary sources using benign, low energy chemistry that removes the need for high temperature furnaces or concentrated acids. This makes DEScycle an essential enabler of the UK's circular minerals ambitions by unlocking material value that would otherwise be lost to landfill, export or inefficient processing.
Why This Matters
DEScycle provides a scalable pathway to help the UK meet its 20 percent recycling target through clean, modular and commercially viable technology.
The process delivers a lower carbon and lower waste alternative to conventional refining, supporting the UK's wider industrial decarbonisation agenda.
Featuring in the Investment Prospectus positions DEScycle among strategic projects expected to strengthen national supply chain resilience and reduce reliance on volatile overseas mineral markets.
Statement from Leo Howden - CEO
"Being included in the UK Critical Minerals Investment Prospectus is an important milestone for DEScycle. The government's commitment to sourcing 20 percent of its critical minerals from recycling and circularity creates a clear mandate for technologies like ours. DES recovery offers a clean and commercially attractive route to meet this target and supports the UK's ambition for resilient, secure and low impact mineral supply chains. We look forward to working with industry and government to accelerate deployment."
Advancing a Circular, Sovereign Minerals Economy
DEScycle remains focused on delivering next generation metals recovery that supports national resilience, underpins clean energy infrastructure and strengthens strategic independence. As the UK accelerates investment in circular supply solutions, DEScycle's technology is positioned to play a foundational role in the transition to a sustainable, sovereign critical minerals ecosystem.
